 If
you picture residents of a senior community sitting in rocking
chairs, forget that image. While that may do for some, many
of our residents prefer to keep very busy. The Sterling of
Aventura’s activity staff plans a full
schedule of entertaining, stimulating, and therapeutic
programs for all our residents.
Weekly dance parties with live entertainment, day and night
outings to shows and fairs, exercise programs, bingo, card
clubs, book review clubs, gaming opportunities, cooking classes
and fund raisers are some of the activities
one will find at The Sterling.
The Sterling is a corporate member of the Jewish Community
Center, which is 3 minutes away from our facility. There,
residents may participate, at no extra charge, in a multitude
of outside activities and events such as: crafts, exercise
programs (including swimming indoors), bridge games and lessons,
dance, spiritual studies and more.
We are an integral part of the Aventura community, having
developed intergenerational and volunteer programs involving
other organizations such as Hillel, Hadassah, The Democratic
Club of North East Dade County, among others. As such, our
residents do not feel isolated. Active participation in the
community gives our residents a sense of belonging and improves
their quality of life.
